Last evening I finally got to watch the movie Milk that Keith got me for my Birthday. It was not surprising to me that I loved the movie as true stories are my favorite types of movies and books. I experienced so many different types of emotions from this movie, I was sad, happy, angered and motivated by this film. It is no surprise to anyone who knows me that I would enjoy a well written film regarding anyone fighting for gay rights.
So leaving my personnel feelings regarding the films issue aside I have to say that this film was not only well written by it did an amazing job of explaining Harvey Milk's work and life in San Fransisco. The movie never dragged really allowed you to feel how he felt and how those around him felt during that time. The movie was a longer movie but I didn't realize how long it was until it was over since the movie had me interested from the beginning about the characters and what was about to happen.
I also think this movie did an amazing job of showing the gay community as a union and group of individuals as who they are and that all they want is to be given the same rights as everyone else. I also think is shows how so many homosexuals go through great emotional challenges in their daily life and while in the process of admitting who they really are. This movie shows how many of struggled to admit they are gay because of the backlash from others including their own family and friends. I highly suggest anyone who thinks people choose to be gay watch this and see how difficult life as a gay man can be and then maybe you'll realize that no one would choose such a difficult life.
I'm trying to stop myself from giving a civil rights speech and just talk about the movie but I think that I've explained the movie well enough to encourage others to see it so I'm going to stop here before I either give some of the movie away or start going off on peoples ignorance and intolerance!

Weekly Joel Osteen
I have posted a few of my daily e-mails from Joel Osteen on here already but I decided to save them through out the week and post them all at once. I really like Joel Osteen's way of teaching people the bible and I know many think because he asks for money or is on TV he is a fraud but I really think his special way of preaching has given many more people the Faith they lost or never had. So I hope you enjoy his messages to me as much I enjoy getting them every morning!
Anxious for Nothing
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”(Philippians 4:6, NASB).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
So many people today are living uptight, worried and anxious about the future, filled with frustration and concern. In the natural there may be good reason, but understand, that is not God’s best. God doesn’t want us to live in anxiety and frustration; He wants us to live in peace. You can find rest in Him knowing that no matter what is happening around you, God Almighty has His hand on you. The next time you’re tempted to worry or be anxious about something, remember this verse. God invites us to come to Him. In fact, the Bible says He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. But notice, we can’t just come to Him any old way. He wants us to come to Him with a heart of gratitude and thanksgiving. Begin by simply saying, “Father in heaven, thank You for the privilege to come before You. Thank You for hearing my prayers.” As you come to Him with an open and humble heart, He will hear you and fill you with His peace and joy all the days of your life.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, today I choose to be anxious for nothing. I choose to set aside my worries and concerns. I thank You for Your faithfulness to meet every need in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Inexpressible and Glorious Joy
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy”(I Peter 1:8, NIV).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Do you need more joy in your life? This verse tells us that when we choose to believe in God, we are filled with His joy. And not just any kind of joy—inexpressible and glorious joy! Have you ever seen someone filled with inexpressible joy over something? Their face is beaming, their heart is pounding. They can hardly contain themselves. They are so excited they can’t think of anything else. They have so much confidence over what they know that nothing can take away their joy. As believers, that’s how we should be. We should be confident in the goodness of God and filled with His inexpressible and glorious joy!I encourage you today to be bold and believe God. Get to know Him better by knowing His Word. Hold His promises close to your heart so that you can be filled with His confidence and joy all the days of your life.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your joy unspeakable and full of glory. I choose to believe You and trust in Your goodness. I invite you to search my heart and remove anything that would keep me from all You have in store. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
Delight In Him
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart” (Psalm 37:4, AMP).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Do you know what it means to delight yourself in the Lord? One of the definitions of this word in the original Hebrew means: to be soft or pliable. In other words, when we allow God to shape and mold our character, we are delighting ourselves in Him. The scripture tells us that God is the potter and we are His clay. The potter can’t work with hard, dry clay; He has to use soft, moldable clay. We are the ones who decide if we will allow God to work with us or not. We decide if we are going to be soft and pliable or if we are going to allow the world to make us hard and dry. How do we stay soft and moldable? By simply immersing ourselves in the water of God’s Word. Friend, when you and I make God’s Word a priority in our lives, we are setting ourselves up to be used by God. We are delighting in Him. We are yielding to Him, and we are opening the door for Him to give us the desires and secret petitions of our hearts!.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, today I come to You giving You all that I am. I am committed to Your Word and I invite You to work in my life. Make me more like You and may everything I do be pleasing to You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
He Works All Things Together
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them” (Romans 8:28, NLT).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Everyone goes through things that don’t seem to make sense. It’s easy to get discouraged and wonder, “Why did this happen to me?” “Why did this person treat me wrong?” “Why did I get laid off?” But we have to understand, even though life is not always fair, God is fair. And He promises to work all things together for good for those who love Him. I believe the key word is this verse is “together.” In other words, you can’t just isolate one part of your life and say, “Well, this is not good.” “It’s not good that I got laid off.” “It’s not good that my relationship didn’t work out.” Yes, that’s true, but that’s just one part of your life. God can see the big picture. That disappointment is not the end. Remember, when one door closes, God has another door for you to walk through—a better door. Those difficulties and challenges are merely stepping stones toward your brighter future. Be encouraged today because God has a plan for you to rise higher. He has a plan for you to come out stronger. He has a plan to work all things together for your good so that you can move forward in the victory He has prepared for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for working all things together for my good. I choose to release any doubt, any frustration, any confusion over my past, and I choose to trust in You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
He Will Answer
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“I will answer them before they even call to Me…” (Isaiah 65:24, NLT).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Have you ever thought about something you wanted or needed, and suddenly, that need was supplied—before you ever even stopped to pray about it? God knows your needs before you even speak them. He wants to provide for you and answer the very desires of your heart. When you put Him first in everything you do, when you faithfully follow His commands, He’ll pour out an extra portion of His goodness and favor upon you.Don’t ever think God is too busy to answer your prayers. Don’t ever think your needs are too small or that you don’t matter. He cares about everything that concerns you, and He loves to hear you call upon His name. You are very special to God, and He promises to answer in His timing, and sometimes, before you even call. Stand in faith knowing that God wants to shower you with His abundant blessings today.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. Reveal Your good plan for me and teach me to trust in You as I surrender to You every area of life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Make the Most of Life
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“Please don’t squander one bit of this marvelous life God has given us” (II Chronicles 6:1, Message).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
So many people today are living below their God-given potential. They’ve put their dreams on hold because of disappointments or setbacks. But God doesn’t want us to spend a single moment living in regret or condemnation. He doesn’t want us to settle for mediocrity, He wants us to make the most out of every moment of our lives. He promises to make all things new. He promises to restore everything the enemy has stolen from us. We are the ones who have to make the decision to let go of the past so we can make the most of today. We have to choose to keep moving forward one step at a time. When you choose to walk in forgiveness, you are making the most of your life. When you reach out to help others, you are making the most of your life. When you give of your time, talent, and resources to build the kingdom of God, you are making the most of your life. Choose today to let go of the past so you can embrace every opportunity the Lord has in store for your future!

Don't Give Away Your Power
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“And don’t sin by letting anger control you. Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry” (Ephesians 4:26, NLT).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Do you realize how much energy it takes to be bitter or hold a grudge? We only have a certain amount of energy for each day. If we use it for the wrong purposes, focused on the negative, dwelling on who hurt us, we’re not going to have the energy we need for the right purposes. We’re not going to make the best decisions. We’re not going to be as creative. We’re not only doing ourselves a disservice, but we’re doing our family and our friends a disservice. Remember, you can’t control what people do or say. You can only control yourself. If you’re allowing others to upset you, then you are giving away your power. The Scripture says, “Don’t let the sun go down on your anger.” The reason many people have no joy or enthusiasm is because they go to bed every night with anger and unforgiveness. When you go to bed like that, with a cluttered mind, focused on the negative, you wake up with the same negative emotions. Don’t let anger and unforgiveness block God’s blessing in your life. Choose to let those things go so you can live in the peace, joy, and power the Lord has for you.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, today I am releasing every negative thing that has happened to me. I’m forgiving every person who has hurt me. I’m forgiving myself for mistakes I’ve made and releasing every disappointment so that I can live in Your peace and victory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Set Your Mind
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“Now set your mind and heart to seek (inquire of and require as your vital necessity) the Lord your God” (I Chronicles 22:19, AMP).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Have you “set your mind” today? In other words, when you woke up this morning, did you make the decision to focus on good things and to follow God with all your heart? If we don’t set our minds, if we don’t purposely focus our thoughts and energy, then chances are, we’ll be bombarded by the cares of life. We’ll be tossed back and forth by every situation we encounter. We’ll be distracted by every phone call, upset by the traffic, offended by what someone said, and we’ll get off the course God intended. We’ve all heard it said that the best defense is a good offense. When you proactively set your thoughts, you are putting yourself on the offense. You are taking charge of your life. You are being an on-purpose person. You’re redeeming the time. Make the decision today to set your mind on things above. Set your mind on God’s eternal purposes so that you can stand in the victory He has for you.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, today I set my mind on You. I choose to seek You with my whole heart. Thank You for strengthening me with Your peace and joy today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Redeem the Time
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days” (Ephesians 5:15-16, NLT).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Time is the most valuable commodity in life that we have. It’s more valuable than money. You can make more money, but you can’t make more time. When you woke up this morning, God gave you a present called “today.” And with that gift comes a responsibility. The Scripture tells us to redeem the time, to make the most of every opportunity. That simply means don’t let it go to waste. Don’t live this day unfocused, unhappy, negative, or defeated. Make the most of every day. God has entrusted you with His life. He has breathed His very breath into you. He has put gifts and talents on the inside of you. You have seeds of greatness deposited in you. You’re a person of destiny, and you have an assignment and a purpose to fulfill.I encourage you today to evaluate how you are spending your time. Refocus your life. Let go of any distractions. Shake off any self-pity, any discouragement, any disappointments of the past and run your race with purpose. Be careful how you live and redeem the time so that you can fulfill the destiny He has prepared for you.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for the gift of today. I dedicate this day to You. I dedicate my mind, will, and emotions to You. Use me this day for Your purposes and keep me on the path You have for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Where the Spirit Is
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom)” (II Corinthians 3:17, AMP).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
When you make Jesus the Lord of your of life, something supernatural takes place on the inside of you. The Spirit of God actually makes His home in your heart. And the Bible tells us that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom! When you allow that truth to sink into your mind and heart, when you get into agreement with God and begin to declare that you are free, then you will see that freedom manifest in every area of your life. God will begin to turn around situations that you’ve been praying about for years. He’ll restore relationships that you thought were impossible. He’ll bring health and wholeness back into your body. Those dreams, those promises that are on the inside of you, they may look too big, but God will set you free to pursue those dreams. He’ll set you up to overcome every obstacle. He’ll empower you to defeat every enemy so that you can move forward in freedom and victory in every area of your life!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Spirit that lives inside me and gives me life. Help me to know You and Your power so that I can live in the freedom You have for me. In Jesus’ Name.
Free From Bondage
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“…I will free you from their bondage and I will rescue you with an outstretched arm…” (Exodus 6:6, AMP).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
No matter what’s going on in your life, no matter how somebody is treating you, God has a plan to free you from everything that would try to hold you back. He wants to rescue you and show you His mighty hand of favor and blessing. One translation says “with special and vigorous action.” What does that mean? That means, if you will stay in faith even in the difficult times, God is going to show up with explosive blessings. He is going to bring supernatural turnaround, supernatural breakthroughs, supernatural promotion, and supernatural deliverance. God is saying, “I’m going to free you from the bondage of poverty and lack. I’m going to free you from the burden of depression and discouragement. I’m going to free you from every addiction, every bad habit.” You don’t have to live in bondage to anything any longer! God’s arm of deliverance is outstretched toward you. He is setting you free from every bondage so that you can live the life of victory He has in store for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for delivering me from every fear, every concern, every obstacle, every form of bondage. I declare today that no weapon formed against me shall prosper because You are my deliverer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
He Holds You in His Hand
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you…I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand…”(Isaiah 41:10, AMP)
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Is there something in your life that feels beyond your control? If you’re tempted to get discouraged, remember, as a believer, God is holding you in the palm of His hand. There is nothing too difficult, nothing too impossible, nothing beyond His ability. When God holds you in His hand, you are safe. You are cared for. In His hand, there is victory. In His hand, there is strength. In His hand, there is provision. In His hand is everything you need. No matter what you may be going through today, you can trust that God is for you. Instead of getting down and depressed over your circumstances, look up and get a vision of God turning that situation around. Get a vision of His favor, promotion, and increase in your life. As you stand in faith, you’ll see those supernatural breaks that will launch you further ahead than you ever thought possible! Remember, He holds you in His victorious right hand!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for helping me and holding me in Your victorious right hand. I choose to trust You even when things don’t make sense, even when things seem beyond my control. I release my cares to You knowing that You work all things together for my good. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
His Call Remains
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“For God’s gifts and His call can never be withdrawn” (Romans 11:29, NLT).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
What is the vision that you have for your future? Maybe at one time you were excited about your life—you had big goals, big dreams, but you went through some disappointments or life didn’t turn out the way you planned and now you’ve just settled where you are. But understand, God’s plan for your life didn’t go away just because you had some disappointments, setbacks, or because somebody treated you unfairly. God didn’t write you off just because you made some poor decisions. No, He knew every mistake you’d ever make; He knew every person who would wrong you, and He still called you. He still designed a perfect plan for your life. No matter what’s happened in your past, God’s plan for your good remains. He still has a bright future in store for you. If you will get your hopes back and get your vision in line with God’s Word, then the rest of your life will be the best of your life! Keep standing, keep believing, and get a vision for your future because the Lord has an amazing future in store for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me. Thank you for calling me and giving my life purpose. I choose to shake off the past; I choose to forgive those who have hurt me, and I choose to keep my eyes on You, knowing that You will complete the good work You started in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
His Hand is Outstretched
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
“For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who can annul it? And His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back” (Isaiah 14:27, AMP).
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
As believers, you and I have an advantage. We don’t have to go through life just depending on our own talent, our own ability, our own strength. The Scripture talks about how God’s hand is outstretched toward His people. That means there is a supernatural power behind every believer. God’s outstretched hand will help you accomplish dreams that you thought were impossible. His outstretched hand will cause you to get well even when the medical report says there is no way. The outstretched hand of God will help us to prosper even when the economy is down. Let this sink down into your heart today. All through the day, imagine God’s hand outstretched toward you. It is a hand of healing, a hand of favor, a hand of restoration. No matter what you may be facing, you have to realize there is a force for you that is greater than any force that will ever be against you. You’re attitude should be, “I am not settling where I am. I know I have an advantage. As a child of the Most High, I know God’s hand is outstretched toward me.”
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for Your outstretched hand of protection and provision for me. I choose to lay aside every fear and every concern knowing that You will make a way for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Amen.
Store of the week: Hoopla
I like rating things so I decided to rate stores now too! I figured blasting my opinions across the internet is also a nice way to stay awake during my long work hours. I am not sure who has all visited the store or even heard of it but it’s a female accessory store in Strongsville and they now have a location in Hudson. The store has great deals on cute jewelry and I can guarantee you will find the perfect accessories for any occasion. They also have stationary and amazing gift ideas.
My recent trip there I could have spent hours looking at of course the jewelry but also the large purse selection they have. Then I noticed a sandal display in which they had regular flat sandals and kitten heeled sandals in brown and black that you can replace the straps on to create multiple different looks! I of course was smitten with them and the idea of travel to Florida with out a separate bag just for shoes!
Also if you are a bride to be they have a really nice selection of gifts for the ladies in your wedding and also cute stuff for friends to by the bride to be. Robes, glasses, jewelry, stationary, and much more!
I also must am clearly not the only person who has a great love for Hoopla since Fox 8 voted Hoopla the best women’s accessory store in Cleveland.
I highly suggest the ladies check it out and even guys when they are looking for the perfect gift! For a little glance of the store check out www.hooplashop.com

Stress is Sabotaging Your Diet Success

If there's one thing that gets in the way of you being your healthiest, it's stress. For anyone who's found themselves standing in front of the freezer inhaling spoonfuls of Coffee Heath Bar Crunch ice cream (not my real name!) to avoid finishing a project, or waking up three times in the wee hours of the night in anticipation of a difficult conversation, here's some not-so-shocking news: Research shows that anxiety can make you sleep fewer hours, get sick more often, remember less, become more prone to long-term disease and—as if you needed reminding—eat more. No wonder up to 90 percent of doctor visits are for stress-related complaints, a fact that I suspect too many of you know firsthand (though you experience it as GI distress, back pain, a headache or other physical symptom).
In a recent Self.com poll, 85 percent of women said that worries interfere with their ability to catch zzz's, while 71 percent say they're more irritable due to stress. And given the recent headlines about the state of our economy, it's not surprising that 52 percent of women say they are under considerably more stress than they were six months ago. (What is your stress level?)
Grim, yes, but there IS hope. Just as our bodies are wired to react to stress, we're all also programmed to know how to wind down, whether it's by watching a funny movie, sitting in the sauna, sipping some chamomile tea (while dunking a cookie, of course!) or drinking a glass (or two) of wine with dinner. These activities switch on the brain's pleasure centers, blocking the production of the stress hormone cortisol and churning out happiness-inducing chemicals like serotonin instead.
When I feel a tightening in my back or neck coming on, I cope by doing things I love, like going for a long, slow run in the park with my dog. Try a few of these instant soothers, and watch your own stress go from ARGH! to Ahhh.
Turn up the tunes. Listening to music that has a steady (not frenetic) beat may cause brain waves to keep time and relax you, research from a music symposium at Stanford University in California reports. Load your iPod with a playlist of the songs that make you happiest.
Phone a friend. Pouring your heart out to pals can help you cope with bad feelings and brainstorm new ways to solve problems. And don't forget to return the favor: Lending an ear and offering support can make you feel needed and reduce anxiety. (Or drop them an e-card to say thanks!)
Break a sweat. Exercising for 30 minutes makes your body release chemicals that dull the physiological effects of stress response for up to a full day. But the effect only works when the activity is something you really want to do, so make sure you're psyched about channeling your energy in that cardiovascular direction.
Use a better bulb. Outfit your office lamp with an incandescent bulb, particularly if your cubicle is brightened by fluorescent lights. Incandescent and fluorescent lights work together to more closely mimic outside light. And it's sunshine (or the perception of it) that regulates the body's biorhythms. Not getting enough of it can affect hormone levels, suppressing the immune system and increasing the probability of mood swings, depression and sluggishness.
Pamper yourself. Whether you get a pedicure or splurge on a blowout, giving yourself special treatment reduces your blood pressure and gets your mind off what’s bothering you. Science supports this coping mechanism as well: A warm bath can activate neurons that increase serotonin, and a study from Bowling Green State University in Ohio found that a 15-minute massage can significantly cut anxiety levels. Not up for a splurge? Get the same effect from an at-home pedicure, manicure or blowout.
Dine by candlelight. The effect won't just make you look gorgeous. The dim setting actually signals your brain to release melatonin, the good-for-you sleep hormone which ensures a better night's rest. And catching enough zzz's helps keep your stress levels under control and your immune system humming. Can't sleep? See what your stress dreams are trying to tell you.
Snuggle with your sweetie. A simple 20-second kiss or hug increases endorphin levels, while having sex releases more calming hormones than any other form of sex play, researchers at the University of the West of Scotland at Paisley note.
Keep a journal. Jotting down your stressful thoughts can help you look at them more logically, potentially easing anxiety, mentally and physically. A study in the Journal of Health Psychology finds that a mere month of expressive writing can help reduce hypertension. Keep a pretty notebook handy at all times.
Anticipate something awesome. Or something tiny that makes you smile. The point is to look forward to something each day, whether it’s enjoying your morning java or counting down to an exotic vacation. Practicing this will keep your mind from focusing on what could go wrong that day.
Exhibit your exhilarating moments. Tape up pictures of three amazing days you’ve experienced, such as dancing at your wedding or crossing the finish line of a half-marathon. Honing in on the images for at least 10 seconds can lower muscle tension and stabilize your heartbeat.
Give someone props. Go on, pay a compliment to someone deserving. Research has shown that the more warm personal connections you make, the better your body is at jettisoning the effects of stress.
Stress-eater? Snack away the tension with these stress-busting foods.

Man adds meth to wife's water to give her energy
MORTON, Wash. -- A Lewis County man faces assault and child endangerment charges after detectives say he made his wife drink water spiked with meth.
The woman was breast-feeding their three-month-old child at the time. She said she did not know the meth was in the water.
The 34-year-old man told investigators he hoped the meth would give her energy to clean the house.
The man is currently locked up in the Lewis County jail on another pending charge. Detectives said they learned of the meth incident while listening to the inmates phone calls.
~ I cannot believe this mans excuse was that he wanted his wife to have energy to clean the house! His wife was taking care of a three month old child and naturally would be exhausted yet the man did not find the need to help his wife out around the house but rather decided to drug her to give her more energy and in doing so also drugged his newborn child. This is why some people should not be allowed to breed! I cannot even begin to understand some people or the way they think. I cannot understand people who neglect those who love them with either negative words or actions. I also think that woman who face emotional and/or physical abuse from their significant others need to realize that they will continue that treatment to their children. It's a self esteem issue that they have that makes them feel better by bring people around them down. This man wanted his home cleaned by his wife because he was to lazy to do it himself so he dangered her life and his child!
I think all people have the right to be loved and treated with respect. I think it's easy for people to recognize the abuse they get physically whether they choose to do anything about it or not is another story but I see and hear about woman being emotionally abused and with out even noticing they have become beat down by words. No one has the right to call you hurtful names especially the person whom claims to love and want to spend their life with you. I think the first step to recognizing it is if you are in a emotionally abusive relationship is by figuring out if the words that come out of your loved ones mouth hurt you or make you feel bad about yourself more then they make you feel good or truly loved by them.
I've completely went into a whole abusive relationship rant here after just wanting originally share a story about some low life loser. I just hope everyone who comes across my blog and reads this post knows how important they are and no matter what anyone in their life may say to bring them down they are loved and worthy of being loved the same way they love others. I have a feeling the woman who was being drugged by her husband has dealt with all other types of abuse from her husband and didn't know that she'd be OK with out him.
Reading things like this about losers like this guy really make me value and cherish my relationship with Keith! I feel very lucky to have such a supportive and caring boyfriend!

Spaghetti Dinner
Last weekend I went with Keith to his college fraternities annual Spaghetti Dinner. Now for everyone that knows me I never miss a chance to get a new dress and get all dressed up so I’ve been looking forward to it since I heard about it. I also really enjoy meeting friends of Keith’s for the first time and I did enjoy watching my boyfriend walk through the room for the first time and seeing all these girls stare and let out a "THERE’S PAPA" it was so funny watching my boyfriend have groupies! I also really like hanging out with his friends and I’m really glad to have met them and to get along so well with them. I always have a great time when we get together and have felt very welcome by them.
So apparently it’s also a tradition every year for multiple people to complain about the spaghetti and price and vowel to not return the next year, it made me laugh! It was more like a fashion show to me of everyone walking around in their gowns and suits and snapping pictures! Again as my friends know I am fan of anyone taking my picture and will never complain about stopping to pose! Also it was a giant drinking fest, we starting drinking before we left the Inn and continued through out the night.
So in my opinion the night was a huge success, I got to meet new people and hang out with my new friends. I also got to spend the evening with my very handsome boyfriend! I loved getting all dressed up and spending the morning getting my hair and nails done. I think everyone looked great and had a great time and what more can you ask for!

Dateline
I am sure many of you have heard my detest for Dateline, well after watching another episode of their fear inducing news I decided to blog about it. I cannot stand the way they report! They want to scare people and when they do that they cause problems for the people who work in the field they are currently attacking. They make it seem like whatever profession or industry they are investigating is completely in shambles and that everyone in that career acts irresponsibly. They scare people into being animals when approaching people of that profession. They do not report that the misdeeds in that field are only being done by 10% if that of people in that profession or that certain practices are only being done by 10% or so companies. Allow me to share some examples that effects my field of employment.
Dateline reported that hotel key cards at check in are programed with all your personal information and that you should not give them back because if so people can get your credit card information, address, and social security number. This is only true in the most expensive of resorts and on cruise boats and even so they are programed to expire and delete the day you check out. Think about it if a card that can be deleted by being to close to your cell phone do you really think it capable of causing you a economic demise. I cannot even tell you how many freaked out people I have come across that looked completely shocked and horrified that I asked for their key card back or that I reached for it on the counter. I have heard of this damn Dateline story hundreds of time and every time I have to explain that it’s a bunch of crap!
Dateline also reported that hotels are giving out key cards to peoples rooms with out id and because of this women are being raped and robbed. Not all hotels are irresponsibly giving out key cards with out ID so there is no reason for you to check in then come down later and make sure we don’t give you a new key with out ID! It waste my time and yours! Also trying to trick the front desk employee into giving you the key so you can get all irrate and talk about how we failed the Dateline test is also annoying! My suggestion is watch if someone is following you to your room or watching what room you are going into to closely then call the front desk and report it. Most hotels are surrounded with cameras and will keep a watch out for the mystery person. Also in case you didn’t notice we never say your room number to you at check in we point it out to you on your key card so others in the lobby do not know what it is. So you saying what room am I in....OHHH 123 does not help your personal security in case of a crazy hotel robber is in the lobby.
I could go on and on about other situations however I will not continue to make myself irrate over Chris Hansen and the rest of the Dateline crew scaring half of America! Chris Hansen should stick to catching Child Predators cause at least then he’s actually doing something of value and perhaps scaring child Predators or children from messaging weirdo’s online! So my suggestion is that when you see something on Dateline take it in an then do some research on your own or ask somebody in that profession for the facts cause Dateline is in the business to make a news show people will watch and by scaring the shit out of people they get viewers!
82nd Street Grill
This evening my Dad came up to take me out for a belated Birthday dinner. I had to pick Matt up at his baseball game in North Royalton so my Aunt suggested trying the sports bar near the school. Keith found that to be a good idea so he could watch more basketball madness and I didn’t really care cause I love trying new places.
Upon arrival at the restaurant the parking lot was full and it looked rather small and run down on the outside but then upon entering I found it to be not so small and a rather nice decor. It reminded me of what I imagined a Irish Pub to look like. We got immediately seated and shortly after our waitress came to take our drink order. This would be the last time our waitress immediately did anything. We decided to order the sampler appetizer after telling our waitress we wanted to order one and away she went. Then upon delivering the appetizer to our table she said she would be back in a few minutes to check back on us not even asking if we wanted to actually order dinner or something. We told her we wanted to order and then again away she went until we had to flag her down to refill our empty drinks. The sampler was mediocre at best the best part of it was the potato skins the chicken fingers where dry and the quesadilla was tiny and almost nonexistent. When our dinners arrived my mashed potatoes where delicious but the meatloaf was not so great! It did not sit well in my stomach either! My dad got the same thing but Keith got a burger that he described as a frozen patty they heated up with cheese. His fries where little and tasteless. Matt never complains or has anything to say about food other then when he can get more so I have no opinion on his wrap. Finally after finishing our food and talking for awhile I tracked the waitress down for our check and then she disappeared again for a while before coming back to get it.
So on my Nina review scale I would give this place a 1 the food was non-impressive and the service was very poor. Which is sad cause the decor is really nice and would be a cool sports bar to hang out with friends and watch a game!

St. Patrick's Day
I know I've posted since St. Patrick's Day and didn't mention St. Patrick's Day but hey I've been busy! Anyway this St. Patrick's Day I celebrated in Kent it Keith, Melissa, Adam, Emily, and Charlie. It was a really fun day in Kent, I have not been to Kent to go out or anything for several years now. I don't even think I've been to Kent since the night Jesse and I ended up there after a fun filled night at the Interbelt! I wasn't able to drink since I was designated driver and because I worked audit the night before and I worked audit that night. So basically I got a big hour and a half of sleep that day but I lasted till around 7pm! We found a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful day which I think greatly increased my survival time. As pitcher after pitcher was emptied at our table I watched the group get drunker and drunker which allowed for pretty interesting conversation. Now the bar we ended up at after taking a close look around and noticing the large number of homosexuals enjoying the patio I realized that we had ended up at Kent's gay bar. See even when I'm not looking them the Gay's always find me!
Now around 5pm I was feeling a little drained and needed to refuel so I noticed all these people walking up to a little window in the side of the building attached to the patio we where sitting at and leaving with giant burritos. Adam then told me it was Taco Tonto's and that they are really good! So I tried them and good is not even the word for them the word to describe them would be DELICIOUS! I love them! It was the best burrito I've ever had in my life! So if anyone is in Kent and wants to try an amazing burrito go there!
So that was my St. Patrick's Day! It ended with Charlie filling my purse with peanuts why I'm not sure but it gave Keith a snack for the ride home. I also did try the Incredible Hulk shot that they had been talking about all day and it was pretty good and I did have to have at least one green drink on St. Patty's Day!
It was a great day and can't wait to do it all over again next year!

Weekly Fashion Update
So apparently once a week is not really when I'm really going to post this but rather I'll post this whenever I feel all fashion opinionated! I'm so opinionated on SOOO many other things that sometimes it takes a little while to get back around to fashion. Now before I begin with my does and don'ts picks for this week I want so show a picture of the fabulous amazing wonderfulness that is my dress for tomorrow's dinner! I got it on Monday after waiting forever and a day for it and as soon as I tried it on I almost cried! It looks AWESOME! I couldn't ask for a better dress!! I think it may have been made for me! So I must say if you are a plus size girl like myself and look for a dress that will not only wow others but yourselves then check out www.kiyonna.com and since it won't let me save the picture of my dress go to http://www.kiyonna.com/plus-size-clothing/Little_Black_Dresses/12060902 to check it out!
Now on to my Must have item of the week!! Now this has been a tough one for me this week as I have not really seen anything that has overly made my mouth drop style wise! So my must have this week is Ebay! Yes EBAY! I am normally do not share my savvy shopping ways to people but I decided I would! Now I have more clothes then most department stores! I actually acquired some new clothing from my Mom & Mark for my birthday which I must give DK props she actually did a great job this time! But when I'm shopping I do my quick scan of all my favorite stores and see what new looks or items I like and then put them into ebay search and bam pow a lot of the times I find that same item NEW for half the price after shipping! So I highly recommend everyone giving it a shot! I actually have found 2 Ebay sellers who have a great online store selection that I use a lot as well! So my fashion must for the week is you MUST save when you can and you MUST try EBAY to do so!
Now my don't for the week! I am all for the plus size woman feeling sexy in their own body but I am also for knowing your body and what makes you look sexier! Now big girls just because companies make clothes in your size that is clearly for little people does not mean you should own it! Fat girl Bikini's!? Why do you really think that look is attractive?! Big Girl tube tops?! REALLY!! I just think that the you must treat everyone the same and have the same for everyone of all sizes propaganda is nuts! Because no big girl is proving how sexy a plus size woman can be by over showing the goodies that make her a plus size girl! So fellow plus size woman if you have even considered buying any of the things I've listed above please avoid at all costs!!
Okay well that's my weekly fashion rambling but I will end with my Nina's 5 Must Haves of the week!

- Listerine white dissolving white strips - One word........AMAZING!
- Aussie Instant Freeze Spray - My board straight hair needs super spray to hold in any curl but still look natural and this for sure does the trick!
- Conair 1 inch curling iron - Works well on already curly hair for that big curl look and works the best on that hard to curl straight hair!
- Victoria Secret Love Spell - I adore this scent and am deeply saddened by the lose of their haircare products in this scent.
- Clear Lip gloss! - Really any kind will do but it gives a natural and sexy look to even the most natural look.

Damon's Grill
I have a new love with rating restaurants online but I never know if anyone really reads it or agrees with me. I am going to solve this problem by having a restaurant rating on here every time I go out to dinner. I have also decided to give it my own "Nina Rating" scale! LOL! So a restaurant can receive between 1-5 with one being awful and five being a Nina Favorite! So last evening Keith and I enjoyed a nice evening out together and decided to go to Damon's Grill in Middleburg Heights.
Now normally I avoid eating at Damon's due to my policy to not eat at restaurants that are in New Philadelphia rule because since there is a lack of options in T-County you tend to repeat restaurants so many times you can't take it any longer! So I avoid those restaurants here to avoid the constant repeat! We decided to go there when I read online about how they have this steak topper called Cheesy Rockefeller which is a spinach, artichoke, bacon, and cheese mixture that they top your steak with and it made my mouth water so I had to try it!!
We arrived at Damon's around 10 till 8 and where surprised by a 45 minute wait but we decided to wait it out even thought I thought I was going to wither away from hunger! Now while waiting at the bar and having a drink we observed a very angry group whose service was awful and they had to ask for their appetizers and main course before it was brought out and then they brought out the main course all at separate times to each person which annoys the hell out of me. The manager was prompt to come apologize and offer to discount their meal and comp. their appetizers. The manager impressed me but I was still very scared our service was going to be comparable since I was already getting annoyed with the hostess who didn't go set up new tables as soon as they could to seat people faster. Finally they called Keith party of two and we did end up getting a sweet booth over looking all the TV's and in perfect position to play trivia!
Our server was very quick to get to our table and get our drink orders and ask about appetizers. Shortly after she brought out our appetizer which was an Onion Tower now this was not an onion tower it was a bunch of oniony crumbs in a fancy container! We spoke to the server about it and she took it away and then the manager came over to offer something new and told us he would remove it from our bill. We decided to pass because we ordered our steaks and we knew it was enough!
Our main course included soup or salad, I got a delicious Baja Chicken Soup! It was not to spicy and very tasty! Then my 8oz Sirloin topped with the Cheesy Rockefeller came with a side of mashed potatoes. My steak was delicious!! Very well cooked and the Cheesy Rockefeller topping was amazing! I loved it! I also love their dinner rolls too! The potatoes are the mashed red potatoes so I wasn't a huge fan but still good. Keith also enjoyed his NY Strip Steak!
So besides from the poor preparation on our appetizer from the cooking staff dinner was a success. I think the food was very good and our server was pleasant and quick! I think with the wait that we had and the wait the hotel guest seem to have I think the hostess staff could be a little quicker at their job since there was several times where minutes went by with many empty tables. So I am going to give Damon's Grill in Middleburg Heights a 3!! The food was good but not that wonderful fantasticness that would make a 5!

Cavs vs. Bucks Game
So my Valentines gift to Keith was tickets to watch the Cavs play! We sat in what we found to be a great section 114 we had great view of the game with out looking down or moving our heads back and forth all night. I of course was rocking out my Varejao jersey but I must say my Brazilian Curly haired boyfriend was not having the best of games nor was LeBron for that matter yet they still pulled off a victory. 9 points short of Keith getting a free Chalupa from Taco Bell (None for me Taco Bell was given up for Lent) but they still won with a score of 91-73!
It was a great time and I loved watching Keith get all excited over the game while I spent more of my time people watching and dancing around in my seat the music playing in the arena! I can't wait till baseball season starts so we can go catch a few Tribe games even though I am still angry over the trade of my Indians boyfriend Franklin Gutierrez! So if anyone is up for a game this summer let me know!

Rejoice in the Lord
Today's Scripture
“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4, NKJ)
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
When was the last time you had so much joy that you couldn’t contain yourself? Maybe your favorite football team won the big game. Or maybe you received some unexpected, good news. There are many reasons to rejoice in this life, but the scripture tells us to rejoice in the Lord.To rejoice simply means to express great joy. There are many ways to express your joy in the Lord. You can sing, shout, clap, and one biblical definition is to literally spin around! Notice these are all action words. That means we can choose to take action no matter what our emotions are telling us. We can choose to rejoice in the Lord no matter what’s going on around us. And keep in mind, when you make the choice to rejoice even when you don’t feel like it, you are giving God a sacrifice of praise. That’s something that pleases the Lord. That’s something that opens the door for Him to move on your behalf. When you take a step of faith and choose to rejoice, before long, your feelings will get in line. You’ll feel His joy bubbling out of you like rivers of living water, refreshing you and giving you strength to live in victory in every area of your life.
A Prayer for Today
Father in Heaven, I choose to rejoice in You.. I set my mind, heart, and emotions on You today knowing that You are faithful! I will sing of Your mercies and goodness all the days of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Take Your Medicine
Today's Scripture
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (I Thessalonians 5:16-18, NIV).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Did you know that it is God’s will for you to be joyful always? God wants you to be happy and carefree. He wants you to love your life no matter what your circumstances look like. In fact, when you have joy in the midst of difficult circumstances, it’s evidence of your faith and trust that God is going to bring you through.
Understand that God’s supernatural joy is His strength. He wants you to have joy so that you can stand strong no matter what’s going on around you. You might say, "Joel, I’m just not a real jovial person. I’m more serious. I never laugh that much." I realize God made us all differently, but you can train yourself to laugh more. I read where the average child laughs over 200 times a day, but the average adult only laughs 4 times a day. What’s happened? We’ve allowed the pressures of life, stress, and more responsibilities, little by little, to steal our joy.
Make the decision today to get your joy back. Decide that you are going to look beyond your problems and look to God Who will see you through. Ask Him every day to fill you with His supernatural peace and joy so that you can live in strength and victory all the days of your life.
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, I humbly receive Your Word today. I choose to open my heart to You and invite You to fill me with Your joy and strength. Thank You for showing me Your goodness and empowering me with Your grace. I bless You today and always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Weekly Fashion Update
So I decided to blog about fashion once a week since not only is it something I love but apparently something I have a flare for. I want to share new things I like with everyone and also things I am not a fan of. I'll try to attach pictures of what I mean too! Then I'll end every session with five things I can't live with out! My must have's really!!
So this week I took to the net and bought two amazing pair of Steve Madden shoes! I've attached the picture below for your pleasure! Steve Madden amazing! I love his shoes and they are actually comfortable to wear! That is hard to find for me with my ankle of doom! I think if you want to splurge or if you come to me for my secret in discount shopping either way every woman must own one pair of Steve Madden shoes!
I want to start with a new trend, I love the oversize scarf's, they are almost like giant cloth necklaces the way they are made and go on. They make your neck look longer and leaner, also help thin your face out as well. However if you have long hair like myself to make this look pop you'll need to either pull your hair half up or all up. The long hair hanging over the scarf takes away from the look. I really suggest my fellow plus sizes give this look a try because it's new, fresh and I love it!
With that positive trend I'm going to speak now of a trend that I do not find so positive. For some time now the shirts that are cut right below your chest and then continue after a different pattern or a line or whatever they feel like cutting the shirt there with. Now with girls who are like myself and are holding some not cute love handles I suggest you stay far away from these shirts. Not only will it draw attention to your extra pounds but it will just look completely tragic!

Take Your Medicine
Today's Scripture
"A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones" (Proverbs 17:22, AMP).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
So many people today live with sickness, headaches, digestive problems, lack of energy and so much more because they don't have the joy they should. They aren't sleeping well at night and are living under so much stress and pressure. But the Bible tells us that when we are happy and joyful, it's like medicine to our bodies. One of the greatest stress relievers God has given us is the gift of laughter. It not only makes you feel better, but it actually releases healing throughout your system. In fact, medical science tells us that when people laugh, it boosts their immune system. It reduces blood pressure. People who laugh regularly are 40% less likely to have a heart attack than people that don't laugh regularly. Laughter triggers the right side of the brain, which helps release creativity so we can make better decisions. Laughter activates the body's natural tranquilizers that not only help us calm down, but it helps us sleep better. If you need to rejuvenate your mind and body, it's time to take your medicine! Make time to laugh every single day. Don't take yourself so seriously. When you approach life with a happy, light-hearted attitude, you'll begin to rise higher and higher into the life of health and blessing the Lord has in store for you.
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of laughter. Help me to see the joy in all circumstances so I can receive Your inner healing. Show me ways to help those around me so together we can live in Your joy and strength. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
"A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones" (Proverbs 17:22, AMP).

CNN's Food Stamp Story
This morning at work CNN did a story about how hard it is for people on food stamps to eat or make it through the month since family's on average receive $179 dollars a month. My mouth dropped, $179 dollars is a lot of money for groceries! They tried to say how sad it was because they had to buy instant mashed potatoes and watch their budget. I was under the impression that food stamps where to help families buy groceries however was not meant to be their only form of eating. I do not spend that much on groceries a month and if you combined what Keith and I spend together on groceries it is not that much. I also do not think that we should be televising stories about how horrible it is for these people on food stamps for having to budget shop. In case CNN has not noticed the state of our economy (Which I know it has since the alternate story was about AIG failing) they need to promote saving money where and when you can. Then the part that really pushed me over the edge was when they started interviewing people on food stamps who started crying about having to spend 20-30 dollars of their own money a month on groceries just to make sure they are not just eating from prepackaged boxes. I literally almost lost my mind over the whole thing! I mean sure it didn't help that it was at 8 am when I had only been at work for an hour.
Don't get me wrong I do think helping families with grocery money to eat is a good thing. I do not think anyone should live on them forever either. I think it is a helpful program to help lower income families save money on buying groceries to help get them on their feet. If the government gave them more money a month in groceries it would teach them nothing about saving and budgeting for when it came time for them to live off of food stamps. It's time for everyone not just people receiving government aid to start budgeting and learn the value of a dollar.

Hotel Etiquette
I decided that since I work in the hospitality business that I would share some advice and guidance for people. I also felt it was important I added this information since I notice everyday that people are clueless about Hotel Etiquette!
Most people are not aware of the fact that 90% of housekeepers get paid by room not by hour. They are also required to finish a certain amount of rooms per hour. A normal pay for housekeepers per room is anywhere in between 2.75-4.50 a room. Obviously higher quality hotels pay more since there is more to put in the room and more to clean. So if you trash your hotel room and it takes a maid over an hour to clean your room they just lost money. Also EVERYONE should tip housekeepers! $2.00 a day standard, unless your room cost you over $200 a night then $3.00 and then a $1.00 more per 50.00 increase in room rate from $200! The reason for this is because the more you pay for your room the more amenities it has and the more a housekeeper needs to do. Now if you are staying several days you can either leave the money daily with a note letting the housekeeper know that tip is for them. Now the tipping everyday technique will possibly get you better housekeeping and extra little things here an there depending on housekeepers. If you do have the same housekeeper everyday and she knows you are a tipper they will make sure your room is priority in getting done when and how you want it. Lets be honest would anyone go out of their way to make under 5.00?! Most housekeepers can finish 2 rooms an hour and 3 rooms and our for the more basic of rooms. So the average housekeeper makes between $8-$9 dollars an hour! They work long hours and have to stay late to accommodate those people who insist on taking full advantage of the "Late Check out"! Also a rule an extra $1.oo per 30 min's after standard check out that you are still in the room.
The Complimentary Breakfast, is just that complimentary which gives you NO right or say in what is on it! Your displeasure in them not having an item you like or eat for breakfast is a irrelevant point. Why?!....Because it's FREE! Also the person who is in there stocking your breakfast they are there to do just that STOCK breakfast and wipe off tables when people leave. Their job is not to throw away your trash for you because I'm sure you clearly notice the waste paper baskets also their job is not to microwave food for you or pour you beverages! They also get paid a little more then minimum wage for a thankless job that for some reason people hear the phrase " FREE BREAKFAST" and they get super human eating skills and have the ability to wipe a breakfast room free of food in 5 minutes flat! Unless your breakfast attendant is sitting around reading a paper or something it is not necessary to point out over and over what is getting low or what kind of doughnut you'd like them to bring out next because it will be filled by them when they are done doing what they already where doing!
Check in time is posted for a reason that is because that is the time that rooms are expected to be cleaned, checked and available for rent. Early check in can be possible at times but call that day to ask if it will be however if it is not do not get all angry and explain how you booked 20 years ago and you have a jump rope contest to get to or whatever it is that requires you to be a tool and expect to get in your room ASAP. Also if they can get you in early do not start shouting demands on the type of room you want because you receiving a favor for the early check in and most likely the room type you want someone else wanted the night before and it's not available yet. Thus is why it's important to also obey the check out time so that the room can be cleaned, checked, and ready to be occupied by the check in time!
That's all I have for right now but I have LOTS and LOTS more to share but in time! I hope no one take offense and also takes the advice I give and help make their hotel stays a lot better!
